TEKNOVATION
AUSTIN, TEXAS, AUGUST 3, 1992 - Logica Research, Inc., today announces its
entrance into the accelerator market place with the Logicache 50MHz '030 series
for the Mac IIsi and Mac IIci, the first in a planned line of accelerator
products. The Logicache 50MHz '030 is a 68030 50MHz accelerator with 64K Cache
RAM for the Macintosh IIci and Macintosh IIsi computers. The IIsi version will
ship with a dual-slot adapter card. The Logicache 50MHz '030 series will be
shipping later this month and are the best-valued '030 accelerators on the
market today. Logica's retail prices are 20% - 25% lower than competitors'
such as DayStar, Applied Engineering and Total Systems. Soon to come is the
Logicache 50MHz '030 for the Mac LC and LCII.
The Logicache 50MHz '030 series is designed with Motorola's fast and reliable
68030 processor running at a speed of 50MHz. This state-of-the-art technology
is combined with a 64K Static RAM Cache to give the Mac IIci and IIsi close to
a Quadra's performance. The Logicache 50MHz '030 accelerates virtually every
function in all applications, including graphics, desktop publishing and spread
sheets. Tests show a 200% to 350% overall performance increase than the
original Mac IIci and Mac IIsi depending on the application running.
The Logicache 50MHz '030 has a socket for an optional 68882 50MHz math
coprocessor for math intensive calculations such as those in spread sheets.
Also included is the Logicache 50MHz '030 Software. This Control Panel
software allows users to speed up SANE calculations and turn the Cache on and
off.
No additional memory is needed for the Logicache 50MHz '030 series, thus saving
money and simplifying installation. Logica guarantees 100% compatibility -
including with System 7 and virtual memory. All of Logica's products are fully
tested to assure compatibility.
The Logicache 50MHz '030 for the IIsi ships with a dual slot adapter card made
for the accelerator. Users simply plug the Logicache 50MHz '030 into one slot
on the adapter card. The extra slot allows users to put other cards like
Ethernet and video into their IIsi as well.
At a retail price of $1199 with the math chip and $1039 without the math chip
for the Mac IIci version, and $1239 with the math chip and $1079 without the
math chip for the Mac IIsi version, the Logicache 50MHz '030 offers an
economical expansion to any Mac IIci and Mac IIsi. At these prices, Logica
offers the best value in '030 50MHz accelerators for the IIci and IIsi on the
market today – 20% - 25% lower than most competitors' prices.
Many Mac owners want to upgrade their computers without having to spend the
money on an entire new computer system. Logica has the solution to their
problem – the Logicache 50MHz '030 series of accelerator cards. These
accelerator cards are retailed at prices far below competitors' thus giving
users the best value for their money.
Logica will continue to offer its five-year warranty on all products including
Logicache 50MHz '030 series, and unlimited technical support at 512-836-2168.
With the Logicache 50MHz '030 series, you will also receive a comprehensive
installation guide. Logica manufactures a line of accelerator, cache, and
memory cards for most Macs. All of Logica's products can be purchased from
